The first of these events was the <strong>Sleaford Model Railway Exhibition<\/strong> held at <strong>The Village Hall Ruskington<\/strong> in June 1979.<\/p>\n<p>In those early years membership fluctuated a lot, with as many as fifty members at one stage, and as few as only six on another less memorable occasion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-709\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_1388-e1573583118688.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1362\" height=\"928\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ldmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_1388-e1573583118688.png 1362w, https:\/\/ldmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_1388-e1573583118688-300x204.png 300w, https:\/\/ldmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_1388-e1573583118688-768x523.png 768w, https:\/\/ldmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_1388-e1573583118688-1024x698.png 1024w, https:\/\/ldmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_1388-e1573583118688-600x409.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1362px) 100vw, 1362px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As a reflection of the amount of interest and the growing status at the time, a Club Tie was produced in 1973 (at a cost of \u00a31 each) with the LDMRC badge based on a Robert Stephenson 2-2-2 Locomotive and Class 47 Diesel (to reflect on the joint interest of the clubs members) resplendently embroidered upon it.<\/p>\n<p>The Club issued it&#8217;s first traditional Newsletter called <strong>Local Lines<\/strong> in 1984, a welcome vehicle for both Members and Non Members which lasted well into the late 1980&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-814\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Screenshot-2020-05-26-at-15.53.47.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"910\" height=\"518\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ldmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Screenshot-2020-05-26-at-15.53.47.png 910w, https:\/\/ldmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Screenshot-2020-05-26-at-15.53.47-300x171.png 300w, https:\/\/ldmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Screenshot-2020-05-26-at-15.53.47-768x437.png 768w, https:\/\/ldmrc.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Screenshot-2020-05-26-at-15.53.47-600x342.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 910px) 100vw, 910px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Early in 1982 the Church Hall became unusable due to lack of a heating system which in turn lead to problems of damp and general decay of the buildings structure, and a move to the present Club meeting rooms at the <strong>Birchwood Community Centre<\/strong> was arranged.<\/p>\n<p>All links with St.Martin&#8217;s Church were then amicably severed, which also brought about a change of name to the <strong>Lincoln Model Railway Club<\/strong> which it held until 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Further changes, to both the Club structure and its Committee lead to it&#8217;s name changing once again to the current <strong>Lincoln &amp;
